Someday is now...

You can tell a lot about a person from his or her Pinterest boards. If you look at mine, you might get a sense of my style, favorite colors, and current projects I'm working on. You'll also notice that I'm a bit of a daydreamer. I have a habit of creating "someday boards." There's a someday design studio. A someday kitchen. A someday renovation. It's great to gather ideas and think ahead but the problem with all of my someday boards is that I kind of forget about working on the present.

If I'm to be honest, I do that in my life too. Maybe, sometimes I'm too much of a dreamer and planner and less of a doer. Let's face it, the doing is the hard part. Below you'll find a board I put together a while back to give my kitchen a little facelift while waiting for her someday makeover.

About 18 months ago I got started but life got in my way and I've yet to really pull it together.

Here's a peek at my kitchen now in all its unfinished and messy glory. Let's just say life happens in there, non-stop. (Please excuse the unedited iPhone pictures. They'll just make the after shots look better.)

The artwork is looking a little meh.
My soffets crying out for attention and way too much clutter on my counters. The sink is probably full of dishes too.
The painting was my starting point. The windows need some love.

There's a lot I'd like to pull together and polish up. For better or worse, seeing pictures really helps me to look at the room more objectively. So before I plan and dream up any more projects for myself, I'm getting on this.

Are you a planner, a dreamer or a doer? What projects are on your list these days?
