This year, after taking down Christmas, my husband ran for cover. As much as I like starting off fresh in January, typically it takes me a few days to reconfigure and settle back in. Typically I lose my mind once or twice during this process and feel the need to completely overhaul my home. Thankfully this passes and one or two simple tweaks can put me (and everyone who has to live with me) at ease.
After cleaning and shuffling things around on Saturday I got a rare chance to kick back and put my feet up in a quiet, empty house yesterday. It was heaven and helped get my creative juices flowing and start this week off feeling inspired.
Now to share some Monday hellos with you and Lisa Leonard and greet the week with fresh eyes.
Hello Monday and hello new rug.
I've been waffling about ordering this indoor/outdoor area rug from Grandinroad for months. I'm so glad I did. It adds pattern, texture and a pick-me up to my living room. It really exceeded my expectations.

I found this quote and beautiful palette from Imoi on Instagram last week. I was immediately taken by the happy combination of colors. It's exactly what I want to feel when I walk in my door each day. I thought the quote was fitting too.
Hello jumping off point.
My daughter spied the Fauna pillow from Pottery Barn last week and suggested it for our living room. My kids are totally enamored with the birds that feed in yard so it would be a fun touch to incorporate and it's a great starting point for color.
Hello and come on in.
Lately I've been loving black and white. It's not what I originally had in mind but the Cheetah Spots stencil from Royal Design Studio would be an awesome statement when you open our front door. (and my big-cat loving son would be all over it.)
Hello Dorothy Draper.
I was watching the SATC movie last week and spied the classic Dorothy Draper designed Espana chest in the Vogue office of Candice Bergen's character. I've always loved the one my mom's had my whole life which she painted blue. It's sturdy, elegant and so useful. Mom, if you're reading and feel the need to "simplify" your dining room, I'd be happy to take it off your hands.
This week I'll say hello to routine, hello to creating, hello to hitting 39, and hello to getting ready for a fun adventure with my family.
What are you saying hello to this week?
